!setgame

Overview

The !setgame command allows streamers and moderators to update the current game category of a Twitch stream in real-time. This feature ensures that viewers always have accurate information about the content being streamed.

Important: By default, only users with Moderator permission level or higher can use this command.

Usage

To set the game category for the stream:

!setgame <game>

Parameters

  • <game> (Required): The title of the game you want to set for your stream. This parameter supports fuzzy searching, allowing for slight misspellings or common abbreviations.

Configuration

  • This command requires the StreamElements bot to have permission to modify channel information (typically granted during initial bot setup).
  • The command's permission level can be adjusted under Chatbot -> Chat Commands -> Default Commands.
  • !settitle: Updates the stream title.
  • !uptime: Displays how long the stream has been live.

Aliases

There are no default aliases for the !setgame command. However, you can create custom aliases in your StreamElements dashboard if desired.
