8ball Module

TwitchYouTubeKick

The 8ball module is an interactive chat feature that simulates the classic Magic 8 Ball toy. It allows viewers to ask questions and receive random, customizable responses, enhancing engagement and entertainment in your chat. The module is available on all platforms.

Viewers type !8ball followed by their question in the chat. The chatbot then responds with a random answer from the list configured in the dashboard. The question is optional and does not affect the randomized response.

!8ball [question]

The command can be used by everyone, with a 10-second per-user cooldown and a 3-second global cooldown.

The 8ball responses come entirely from the module settings: you configure the list of possible answers, plus an optional list of emotes — when emotes are configured, a random one is appended to the response. To customize them in the StreamElements dashboard:

  1. Navigate to the Chatbot section
  2. Find the 8ball module in the list of available modules
  3. Click on “Edit” to access the module settings
  4. Modify the list of possible responses and emotes
  5. Save your changes

If no responses are configured, the bot falls back to a default message saying the Magic 8-ball is out of order.

  • !8ball: Asks the Magic 8 Ball a question.

Q: Can I add my own custom responses to the 8ball? A: Yes, you can customize the list of possible responses in the module settings of your StreamElements dashboard.
