Enable Live Streaming on YouTube

YouTube requires phone verification and a one-time waiting period before you can go live.

Verify your account

1. Sign in to YouTube, open your profile picture, and select YouTube Studio.
2. Go to Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility, and expand Intermediate features.
3. Select Verify phone number, choose your country and preferred verification method (text or call).
4. Enter your phone number, click Get Code, then enter the code you receive and click Submit.

Enable live streaming

1. From your YouTube homepage, click Create (camera icon with a plus sign) and select Go Live.
2. Wait 24 hours — this one-time activation period is required for every new channel and can’t be skipped.

Live streaming is enabled automatically once the wait is over.

Tips

• Double-check you’re signed into the correct Google account before starting — especially if you manage more than one.
• Review YouTube’s recommended streaming settings for the best stream quality.
