Account Settings
Updating your email
Section titled “Updating your email”StreamElements pulls your account email directly from the platform you log in with — there’s no way to change it independently yet.
- Update your email on Twitch or YouTube directly (see Twitch’s guide or YouTube’s guide).
- Log back into StreamElements to re-fetch the updated email.
- Confirm the change in your account settings.
Sponsorship program email: this can use a different address than your main account email. To change it, submit a support ticket with the new address — the change is applied once a representative processes your ticket.
Finding your Account ID and JWT token
Section titled “Finding your Account ID and JWT token”Both are on your channels page:
- Account ID is shown at the top of the page. It’s public — safe to share, including in the StreamElements Discord, when asking for help.
- JWT token appears once you toggle on Show Secrets. This is private — never share it with anyone except StreamElements support, and only when they ask for it directly.
Unlinking a channel
Section titled “Unlinking a channel”Unlinking removes a channel from your account without deleting your data — your overlays, chatbot commands, and settings stay saved, and you can relink the channel later to pick up where you left off. (You can also start a separate account tied to just that channel by signing up with it directly.)
- Go to your dashboard and select the channel you want to unlink.
- Click Unlink Account.
- Confirm — this specific action can’t be undone, but you can manually re-add the channel afterward.
Because closing your whole account (below) deletes everything permanently, unlinking a single channel is usually the better option if you just want to disconnect one platform.
Closing your account
Section titled “Closing your account”- Click your profile picture → Channel Settings → Security (or go straight to your account page).
- Click Close My Account.
- Fill out the closure form: your StreamElements username, your account email, your JWT token, and a brief reason for closing.
- Submit. Your account closes automatically, and you’ll get a confirmation email shortly after.
If the form itself isn’t working, contact support with the same information instead.
Can I reopen a closed account? No — closure is permanent. Logging in again afterward creates a brand-new account.
Can I delete just one platform from my account instead of closing everything? No, but you can unlink it instead, which is reversible.
